Advanced Calf is designed with a high level of protein derived from both milk-based and functional protein sources. Research indicates that functional proteins can help reduce both the duration and severity of diarrhea in calves. Advanced Calf includes organic trace minerals, a scientifically proven prebiotic to support intestinal health, and is available with Deccox-M® for effective coccidiosis control and prevention.

What are Functional Proteins?

These products contain a high quality protein product composed of albumin and globulin proteins.

A high-quality protein product composed of albumin and globulin proteins. Research completed at the Mapleview Agri Ltd. Research Facility has shown that high quality functional protein products can reduce severity of diarrhea, in addition to reducing calf morbidity and mortality. Functional proteins have similar characteristics to colostrum, and stimulate the calf’s immune system by providing immunoglobulins. Functional Proteins are an ingredient in Mapleview Advanced Calf milk replacer.

Manual Mixing Instructions

  1. First determine the number of litres of milk to be fed.
  2. Measure half of this volume as hot (47-60 degree) water.
  3. To determine the amount of powder use a scale and weigh 130g (150g in cold temperatures) times the number of litres of milk to be fed. (eg. 15L of milk requires 15 x 130g which equals 2kg of powder.)
  4. Add this milk replacer to the hot water and mix until dissolved.
  5. Add remaining water to obtain desired volume aiming for a final drinking temperature of 40-44 C. Re-mix prior to feeding.

Computer Feeder Instructions

  1. Calibrate the computer to add 150g (175g in cold temperatures) of milk replacer per litre of water dispensed.

  • We are extremely happy with the way the Mapleview product mixes, and the way the machine cleans easily afterwards. It mixes better than any previous products we’ve used. The milk replacer smells great, and we know that with the high-quality ingredients we don’t need to worry about adding other supplements. The calves are growing exceptionally well, gaining over 2.5 lbs/day!

  • When we were looking at milk replacers to switch to, we were doing alot of daily gain scores. We found that once we started with Mapleview the calves consistently gaining what we were hoping for. That was our selling point. We’ve stuck with them ever since.

  • We initially switched to Mapleview Advanced Calf + Deccox about a year ago because it was competitively priced, but we also didn’t want to sacrifice calf performance. We have been very satisfied with the product; it mixes so easily and the calves love it! We also find the calves rebound quicker after any intestinal issues and have excellent metabolisms.

  • The milk replacer mixes very well. The deccox included prevents diseases and issues from forming with the calves. And we find the growth rate in the calves increased compared to when we used the competitors.
