State of the art Research facility
At our 260-calf research facility located outside of Palmerston, Ontario, we develop and validate products to improve calf performance. Construction of our state of the art research facility began in 2015 and completed it in January of 2016.
Staying On The Forefront of Calf Health Through Research
Our research focuses on antimicrobial stewardship by developing products and resources as well as management practices that can assist in a responsible reduction of antimicrobial use. In addition to our own research, we also conduct external trials for pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, feed additive and nutrition companies. We take pride in collaborating with leaders in calf research through our work with universities across North America. These partnerships help us to stay on the forefront of research and calf health.

Cel-Max™
Calves fed 1g of Cel-Max in the milk replacer for the first 56 days improved feed conversion and average daily gain resulting in a significant reduction in rearing costs.

Deccox-M®
Calves offered Deccox-M in the milk replacer had improved growth in the pre-weaning period.

Functional Protein (Advanced Calf)
Calves fed 5% functional protein in the pre-weaning period experienced less diarrhea and maintained the same average daily gain as an all milk formula.

Wheat or Milk Protein
Calves fed a formula containing hydrolyzed wheat protein had a reduction in growth as well as decreased feed conversion in the post-weaning period.

Whole Milk Formula
Calves offered a milk replacer with similar components to whole milk had a significantly lower average daily gain in the pre and post-weaning period and consumed less grain.

Protein Level (Milk Replacer Comparison)
Calves offered a 26% protein milk replacer compared to a 22% protein had a greater average daily gain in the pre and post-weaning period.

Milk Feeding
Calves that peaked at 1000g or 8L of milk replacer had a greater average daily gain and saw no reduction in grain intake when compared to calves fed 750g or 6L of milk.
