Milk Protein Source Comparison Study
The source of protein in milk replacers can significantly influence calf growth and health outcomes. The milk replacer formulation may seem equal and can be formulated with similar specifications, but there are differences with how calves perform.
-
Future Performance Research Summary
A trial was conducted at the Mapleview Agri Future Performance Research Center to evaluate the impact of Mapleview Agri’s Future Performance pillars in milk replacer formulation. These pillars include Canadian Skim Milk Powder, Balanced Medium Chain Fatty Acids, Prebiotics, and Emulvion for improved fat mobilization. The objective of the trial was to compare these proven technologies against industry-standard « least-cost » formulations, which have been widely used for milk replacers over the years.
-
Fat Level Comparison Study
Feeding calves milk replacers with varying fat levels significantly affects their growth, feed intake, and health. This study examined the effects of low-fat (17%), moderate-fat (24%), and high-fat (31%) milk replacers on calf performance and health up to 13 weeks of age.
-
Medium Chain Fatty Acid Levels in Milk Replacer
This trial, conducted at the Mapleview Agri Future Performance Research Centre, aimed to evaluate the effects of different inclusion levels of Medium Chain Fatty Acids (MCFAs) in milk replacer on calf growth, digestive health, and overall performance.
-
Protein Source Comparison Study
Understanding the impact of milk replacer formulations is key to optimizing calf growth, feed efficiency, and economic returns.
-
Precision Start – 3 Week Milk Replacer Study
A trial was conducted at the Mapleview Agri Future Performance Research Center to evaluate a targeted approach to feeding different milk replacer formulations during the first three weeks of life. Calves are particularly susceptible to diseases such as diarrhea during this early period, making nutritional strategies crucial for their health and development.
